TEHRAN PAPERS:

Riyadh is getting closer to normalizing ties with Tel Aviv

September 25, 2023 - 11:17

In an analysis, Shargh discussed possible and imminent normalization of Saudi Arabia's relations with Israel. It wrote: It must be accepted that governments are free to establish or terminate diplomatic relations based on their own sovereignty, which has been recognized by other countries as members of the United Nations and have freedom of action.

What is more important and decisive is the fact that the red lines of this route are in the field of military-intelligence and security cooperation, especially in the form of providing bases to the Israelis on Saudi Arabia’s land and sea borders to operate against Iran, which previously this red line was conveyed to the Emirati side and prevented such cooperation to emerge against Iran's interests and territorial integrity. The second and more important issue is the necessity of neutralizing the perception of threat from Iran by getting closer to the actors of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, especially Saudi Arabia for high-level military and defense cooperation that for many years, the Israelis were able to bring themselves closer to the Arab governments by highlighting the fallacy of Iran’s threat. This path requires both more pragmatism in Iran's foreign policy and a serious review of the macro-geoeconomics issues of the region to restore Iran's position in transportation and transit lines and bring it into economic and commercial cooperation with the region.

Iran: 0Failed plans

In an explanation, the Iran newspaper discussed the sidelines of Raisi's trip to New York and said: The riot project suffered great disgrace as the Zionist regime’s ambassador held up Ms. Amini's photo in the United Nations, an act which led to his expulsion from the General Assembly meeting. This act proved to the entire world that the regime has been the main “employer” of riots in Iran, and due to the intense hatred toward the Zionist regime in the Islamic nation, a point of agreement and emotional convergence between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Muslim nations was once again formed. Also, the situation of the anti-revolution and spiteful media this year was much more deplorable and pitiful than the previous year. Last year, there was a lot of preparation and publicity for the anti-revolution rally, but this year their rally was back to the routine of previous years and there was no new news except for a few dozen people participating in groups. The coincidence of last year's noisy rallies with internal riots, along with the complete failure of the chaos revival project in Iran, proved that nothing is a coincidence.

Hamshahri: The negotiation process continues

In a note, Hamshahri discussed the conversation between Iran’s Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, at the organization's headquarters in New York. The paper wrote: Amir Abdollahian, referring to the exchange of prisoners with the United States and the release of Iran's frozen assets in South Korea, said that we have always had good consultations with the organization regarding the JCPOA. The exchange of messages with America continues and the plan of the Sultan of Oman is still on the table, and if the other parties are ready, we are serious about returning to the JCPOA so that all parties return to their commitments in the JCPOA within the framework of the Oman initiative. Whenever the Agency (IAEA) operates within a technical framework, things move in the right direction. However, problems will emerge when others prioritize their political views over the agency's professional tasks. In fact, nuclear bomb has no place in Iran's defense doctrine. Guterres, while expressing satisfaction with the meeting and sharing the views expressed by the foreign minister of Iran, said he is grateful for Iran’s diplomatic initiatives in solving problems, removing obstacles and developing relations with other countries.

Javan: Netanyahu's ineffective effort on the way to declining

In a commentary, Javan addressed the baseless accusations and threats of the Zionist prime minister from the UN platform and quoted Amir Abdollahian who said: "Netanyahu and the fake Israeli regime cannot do anything other than raising claims of threat by the Islamic Republic of Iran. That is, if they were able to do something, they would not use this literature and approach. Today, they are caught up in multi-layered crises inside the occupied territories. Secondly, instead of respecting the framework of the United Nations, the remarks by the prime minister of the fake and occupying regime show that he is misusing the platform of the international organization." The Zionists own hundreds of nuclear warheads and brazenly continue their threatening language. But basically, the fake Israeli regime is not in a position that anyone values these words and threats. Today the Zionists are in their weakest position.
